The Tricky Number Two

Given the “success” of Uke Hunts Is a Fictional Character, the logical step was to record yet more original material.

Actually it has been more of a success than I ever thought it would be. On Spotify, the monthly total listeners reached around 750 at one point and it's currently at 400 and some. This is far more than just friends who I've harangued into listening to it which is quite a pleasant surprise. I'm not sure whether listeners who stumbled upon it accidentally had a similarly pleasant surprise, but it's multiple fractions of a penny that go into my pocket and for that I thank you all.
You might well have heard both Trump and Theresa, two politically motivated songs that were perhaps a little less tongue in cheek than my early work, but nonetheless both quite damning piss-takes.
Trump was actually written for a TV/YouTube-type project a friend of mine created which at the time of writing hasn't quite got off the ground yet. In time I'm sure it will, although my song will be just riding on the coat-tails of the amazing stuff he can do with puppets.
Theresa was, well it's quite obvious really, so I won't bore you with a lengthy rant about the subject matter. The 1:25 of the song pretty much sums it all up, although by now it could easily be expanded into a half hour epic.
After writing these two I thought that they needed a home among a few other songs on an actual album.
So the idea for The Tricky Number Two was born.
Calling it an album is once again a push as while it contains 12 songs, it is almost the same length in minutes.
Anyway it was all written and recorded in record time. I think a total of 7 or 8 hours went into it altogether.
It includes a couple of re-recordings of some earlier work about assisted suicide and Phil Collins, sadly two themes which are unrelated, and some new stuff.
As ever I have explored important aspects of life to show how socially aware I am. This includes such subjects as farting after eating meatballs and people who like Elvis Presley a little bit too much.
It's recorded and ready now and it's been submitted for review by RouteNote. Fingers crossed it will be available to stream within a week if they approve it.
More to follow.

Stay tuned, uke hunters.
